For the "Ace combat" initiated, this game is a lot better that the original "Ace Combat" for it's graphics and play, although I have to say how much I enjoyed "Ace Combat" too, in the beginning. Not only have the grapics been improved but the game now includes a scannar that actually tellls you which way the enemy planes are pointing - a must for the correct deployment of missiles. Missions are plentiful and, in addition to the possibility to select a wingman (or, indeed wing"woman" as sexual equality aware NAMCO has included) you can even direct him or her to take on a certain part of the mission, or do the mission without support, as you wish. There are the usual night missions and canyon-runs, and plenty of planes to choose from. Game action is very smooth too. The planes available in the more advanced stages of the missions are great. An enjoyable game!

I've played Ace Combat 1-4 and I still think that this one is the best that I have played. Many of the missions are pretty easy but thats just me. The games graphics are better than Air combat but are about the same as Ace Combat 3. The selection of planes is pretty good but Namco could have done a better job but its still a great game. Anyone that likes flight simulations should buy this game ASAP.

Well to start, this is a PS1 game so no one should be expecting some crazy detailed 360 graphics game from this. That being the case it carries the pixelated look of this generation of game. So any who says the graphics for the game suck are simply setting teh bar too high. Like I said, this is an old game so it should be treated as such.
Game play over all is quite fun and the aircraft selection isn't the worst in the world either. The Game play is a lot of fun in my opinion. It's great for any one that likes flight sim action games. Though it might not be recommended to any hard core flight sim PC gamers. The controls are simple enough that most people should have no trouble playing, but still also advanced enough that the aircraft responds in a relatively realistic manner. Though I must say, that the aircraft stall at low speeds really easily compared to later PS2 installments of Ace Combat.
This is a fun game to play and still carries some similarities to the story of the original Ace Combat, which is also known as Air Combat. The story isn't epic, but it's not too bad either. I enjoyed playing the game a and will continue to play is along with all the other Ace Combat games that I have.

this game rocks!while playing this game it felt like a real plane, as you geto choose from realy existing planes which have good controls, and good working and accurate weapons, and you have nice envirorment

Ace Combat 2 for PlaystationFeb 07, 2011

I've played nearly EVERY ace combat game, and this one ranks up there with Ace combat 4 and 5. This one is a HUGE improvement over the first one (titled "Air combat"). The story isnt as good as the playstation 2 versions (4, 5, and Zero) but the gameplay is great , especially if you have a dual-analog controller. I give this game a 8.5/10
