Great Game!Nov 25, 1999
This game was SOOO much fun! I don't know why it never became more popular! It's one of my favorites. A game very much like Zelda, Musashi is a young boy who is summoned to another land to save the kidnapped princess. To do so, he must find parts of the legendary sword Lumina and break the spells cast over the five scrolls. Thus, Musashi embarks on a long journey. He strolls around town, shops at the local stores, climbs the nearby mountain, and, of course, has to defeat numerous meanies. Besides the obvious role-playing/puzzle solving fun, there is plenty of battle to be done with the enemies, which becomes very exciting when you can actually absorb the powers of just about any creature in the game. There are also lots of little fun perks along the way, such as your dance contest with one the head of the Leader's Force (how else would Musashi fight a girl?) I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is interested in role-playing/platform combination games, especcially if you are a Zelda or Final Fantasy fan. This game is exciting, unpredictable, funny, and it will keep you up all night!

Sword Swinging FunApr 22, 2000
Brave Fencer is an amazing game. Some of the puzzles may be difficult but in time you will slove them all. The story line is amazing, it could be turned into quite a good childrens film. If you're worried about people being killed by swords, worry no longer. It's kid friendly violence, the villians don't look human and there is no blood at all. Most of the people have a quick yell and disapeare. I really feel this game will make a great present for any person (who likes video games). So all in all, I recomend it to everyone.

Highly creative, fun game!Mar 13, 2000
When I started the game, I thought it was dumb. It starts off as just a 3D action/platform game. But after the first 10 minutes, it develops into something much more: A highly open ended, involving, entertaining, funny game. The plot flows perfectly, but isn't linear. That is you always know what you should be doing, but you don't have to. There are plenty of other things to do than just follow the plot: Save the prisoners, find all the longivity berries, locate all the secret treasure, go on subquests. This RPG included many clever new features. The idea that somethings only happen at certain times, or on certain days is very clever, as is the fact that Musashi gets tired and needs sleep (although sleeping in the dungeons is a little strange). Most people commented about how they didn't like the voice overs, but I thought they were hysterical. They just took some getting used to. Each character had a strangely unique accient. It gave them personality. I really don't understand why this game was so unpopular. I thought it was a real winner. You should give it a shot.

Another MasterpieceDec 07, 1999
A engrossing story combined with a breath taking soundtrack make this a very good game. It's what you would expect from Squaresoft. It's graphics are sometimes choppy, but the large and egrossing area's make up for it. It's story is at times joking and then serious. The music is very emotionally conveying. Brave Fencer Musashi can be cosidered on of Squaresofts best games.

#1 GameJan 04, 2000
Best game, I loved it! Great graphics, sound, voice, bosses, you name it. If the rating went up to 10, I'll give it 10! Figuring out the puzzles and tricks were great, especially the ice temple. Two thumbs and to toes up!
