Sony has an excellent response to Sonic the HedgehogOct 13, 1999
Because it is a CD based unit a lot of the games on the Sony Playstation have a tendancy to be slow in their game play, especally while they boot up into the system. "Crash Bandicoot" does not have a lot of statistics that it needs to download so all you have to do is hit start and within moments the fun begins. With rich graphics and an adorable character "Crash Bandicoot" will have people who enjoy games like "Sonic the Hedgehog" and "Donkey Kong" sitting on their couches and playing this game until their thumbs become rigid with arthritis. Young children whll enjoy Crash's antics, especally when the game comes to a stop for a few moments and Crash is forced to wait for the player to continue. Older players will like all of the hidden extra levels and bonuses that they can trip over during game play.

A Terrfic Game For The Younger GroupDec 14, 1999
The orginal Crash Bandicoot is pretty good. The graphics have a cartoonish feel instead of the 3-D look of Crash Bandicoot: Warped. The first cople of levels are pretty easy but then it just gets hard. There is no advancing in the difficultly, it just does from simpe to alost impossible. The 4th level is probably one of the hardest in the games which confuses me. In my personal opinion, the game should be easy till about the 5th level then increase in difficultly so it doesn't appear obvious that the level you are playing is very hard. The bosses are quite easy to defeat except for N. Brio, who is twice has hard the main enemy, N. Brutus. The game, though, is a lot better than any of the Marios or Banjo-Koozies. The sercet levels give you extra lifes that will definately help you later on in the game. The game in my personal opinio, is a little to childish. The characters are child-like except for the main villian and the attacks are pretty tame. But overall, the game is great for your kids. It has a possiblity of being one of the best adventure series ever and it is definately the best game on the Playstaion consule. Of course, that's only my opinion.

I have never managed to beat the game, can't imagine how some people claim to do so in 5 hours. My 5 year old has finally figured out how to play these games on the playstation. She was getting frustrated with Crash, until I found the code that allows you to go to any level and play. Plus if you go to the Castle Machinery level first, you get 20 some free lives and then can go where you want. Find the password screen and punch in: T(triangle),T,T,T,X,S(square),T,T,T,T,S,X,T,O,T,T,T,O,S,T,X,X,X,X. Maybe it is cheating, but for us folks that have a hard time beating the game, it makes playing it more fun!

great game that deserved all the hypeApr 10, 2000
I remember telling my mom and my little brother that this game looked stupid and that I didn't wanna play it when they first got a Playstation and this game. I finally gave in and played it however. After playing it for the first time, I got hooked and it was AWESOME. It has some of the best graphics I had seen at the time and most of the levels are fun. It got me hooked so bad, that my family couldn't get me away from it. I told them that I was going to beat the game first and that it was their fault that I got addicted to the game and wanted to beat it in my first few sittings because they had begged me to play it and now I couldn't quit playing it. What I liked best about it was the great graphics and that unlike a lot of video games I've played, it has a good challenge to it. Some of the levels are almost impossibly hard, but most of them are well balanced to give you a good challenge while not being overly difficult or easy. It also has good replay value. I've beat this game about 5 times. Every now and then it's fun to just take Crash Bandicoot for a spin if you want to play a fun game. I recommend this title to anyone.

A very cool gameNov 29, 1999
Crash Bandicoot is the best. If you are patient and like running around crashing boxes open, jumping over holes in the ground, running under jungle rollers, and doing away with skunks, this is the game for you! There is only one problem that I found. You can crash certain boxes open to get a free life, but when you run out of them, you have to do the previous level over, too. But don't worry. I am an impatient person sometimes, and I get along fine. I just bought this game, believe it or not, and it's the coolest.
