5This is the version to getFeb 08, 2008

In the interest of time and space this review will be about this specific version and not the game itself, as there are already reviews for that. Really, the only question here is: are the $20 extra worth it? Cosmetics aside (which alone are worth it for the collector), you're getting 2 extra discs, one with 4 episodes of the animated series -- which are mandatory by the way, but mileage varies greatly apparently -- along with some extras, and a second disc with an art gallery, soundtrack, making of DMC, etc.

So my reasoning goes like this: The anime can be purchased separately for 30 dollars, or you can get it here for 20 dollars along with a bunch of bonus content. This is a game that you'll revisit down the line, and you'll be glad you bought the limited edition in time. And even if you do plan to sell it someday, it will be worth more than the regular version and you'll still have gotten a deal on all the extras, especially the anime.

5collecters editionMar 12, 2008

well you can see reviews for this game on this site so ill just talk about the special features. first of all the game case is in a plastic sleeve which stops the metal case from being scratched and it holds the anime disk. when i removed the case from the sleeve i was expecting some artwork but nothing like this. its a beautiful holographic case showing nero holding up his "devil bringer" and on the back is dante holding his pistol "ebony". aside from the very attractive case, the two bonus disks are fantastic. the anime dvd is very action oriented and can be viewed in japanese with subtitals or in english. also the dvd has an interview with the voice acter for dante and some game promos. the "bonus" dvd is meant for the computer and is a very nice treat for any dmc fan. it has an art gallery showing some origional artist scetches of the dmc 4 charecters, the game soundtrack ( very good quality( i put them on my ipod)), and lots of desktop backgrounds and screen savers. overall i would say that the extra 30 bucks is sooooooooooo worth it for this masterpiece.

5Best of the whole Series.Apr 19, 2010

Despite taking a back seat to nero in this story (which isn't a bad thing) this game is awesome. I loved it over all over all the games in the series. Not counting DMC 2 because that game was just over all trash. But I don't feel like giving a full review so just take it from me if not anyone else (trust my judgment all), This game will not disappoint.

5The Best Devil May Cry Yet!Dec 29, 2008
By Patrick_91 "Patrick"
In my opinion, this is the best Devil May Cry since the 1st one. The collectors edition is a really nice deal. It comes with the game (:0) The first 5 episodes of the animated series, an offer for the 1st series DVD case FOR FREE(you pay $4 S&H) A Bonus Disc with 5 songs, backgrounds, and misc. pictures (you have to put the disc in your comp.) Oh yea and a nice metal case for it.

Now down to game play, as you all know a new character is introduced here, Nero, he plays similar, but not so similar to Dante. It is a very fun game, you do also get to play as Dante, he is a lot older and more comical than before. A definite game to pick up. It also has a very nice story, and a gripping intro (I was like 0_0 when i first seen it!)

Now with all this praise come some criticism, It is astronomically short. 1st time was 10.5 hours to beat, but every other play through was much longer (Different modes) But there is about 2 hours (give or take) Of cut-scenes.

And also, Dante was more of an after thought here (playability wise) As with him there is alot of back-tracking. Lady and Trish literally make a brief intro. Lady gets the short end of the stick here, you only see her for 20sec. and thats at the bonus ending only!! And there not playable! Oh well maybe in DMC 5 (wonder when that will hit shelves o_o )

Overall these few things should not scare you away from this amazing title!
