Ok, this game was a decent brawler with simple combos and some marginally cool graphics. It was however, too easy, and way too short. Go ahead and buy it if you are a Hellboy fan and want a few hours of smashing tombstones and punching things, but if you are more of a serious gamer, you might want to pass on this one.

True to Hellboy!Jul 08, 2008
By A. Hardick I am a huge fan of the Hellboy comic and enjoyed the movie too. I think this game is a lot of fun. It is kinda like a PS1 or PS2 game. A button masher for sure. I do like how you earn new combos. I loved the graphics and loved the story. There is a good mash of the comic and movie Hellboy. The story seems true in tone and mood to the comics. I have a hard time seeing how people can be so hard on this game. Maybe too high expectations. Great for any fan :)
Maybe I'm just a sucker but I'm Having a great time playing this game. The demonic rage meter is awesome. I love throwing people around. There is a nice mix of weapons and the environment is quite destructible. Seems to be some good un-lockables. What else? Oh yeah, a floating head and robotic gorillas. Seems right to me. If you're a fan and are looking for a button masher then look no further.

Unbelievably awfulJul 07, 2008

"Big Evil"
Being a fan of Hellboy, I was kind of looking forward to Hellboy: The Science of Evil. However, also being a veteran gamer, I wasn't looking all that forward to the game, simply because of the terrible history of licensed video games. Well, I didn't expect too much out of the game, but what you get here may even be below your lowest expectations. Hellboy: The Science of Evil puts you in the shoes of the title character as you brawl through numerous hordes of baddies and take on the occasional boss. That's it. That's all you do from beginning to end in this game, and it gets boring very, very quickly. Not to mention that the game as a whole is quite short, quite easy, and features some technical issues that all combine to make the game quite bad. The game features some bland environments and choppy animation, and the clipping issues are more distracting than anything else. Hellboy film star Ron Perlman, lends his voice to the game, but he sounds so bored that he just adds nothing at all really. No matter how much of a Hellboy fan you may be, avoid Hellboy: The Science of Evil like the plague. There's no challenge, innovation, or anything else to even come close to holding your interest.
