The Real DealMar 06, 2003
By Makhan Sanghera If you've ever played RollerCoaster Tycoon and loved it this is the game for you .Imagine instead of building roller coasters you build cages for any dinosaur. You could put a Spinosaurus,a T-Rex,and 1/2 a dozen of raptors and watch a bloodbath emerge. But it isn't all about carnage you can mix dino DNA and create you own wrecking machine. Also you need to attract guests and if you do well enough extra money to waste or use for good use. There are also 12 missions if you want some action.

Great fun for any tycoon fan!Jun 21, 2003

In a land where Zoo Tycoon and its dinosaur expansion have addicted millions of gamers, it's no surprise that a Jurassic Park sim would be killer!I was addicted to Zoo Tycoon and its expansions so I eagerly gave this one a try. I wasn't disappointed at all. First off, you have a WIDE variety of dinosaurs to work with, and can zoom in and out on them to appreciate their looks. There's all the normal fun of mixing herbivores in with carnivores, and dealing with problem animals. Sometimes you have to shoot them down from your helicopter, something the visitors don't appreciate. But they'd probably appreciate becoming Rex Chow even less! You can get Dino DNA and do many cool things with existing dinosaurs and even mix together new dinos. While there are a few minor annoying things about the interface, you get used to them quickly enough and really enjoy the rich graphics and dino-mania for hours and hours. Highly recommended for any Tycoon fan!

Impressed but annoyedJun 18, 2003
By William E Russell I love this game, more than any other simulation-type I have played, but, the next to the last level has me stumped. No matter how I try to herd the saurian critters by helicopter, I cannot do it within the time alotted. Does anyone have a clue? Is there a trick? Or have I just not tried hard enough yet? I tried to literally 'think outside the box', by going around instead of through the maze, but, that didn't work either. Help!! Anyway, great game, for kids and adults alike, as long as you don't mind having to kill and be killed. I mind too, and usually don't like blood and guts games, but I enjoy the park building so much it is easy to overlook the necessary evil of its goriness. oh, and uh, just like in real life, expect to be a bit annoyed at the constant stream of emails the game sends you as park curator. Keep in mind, the game is simply being realistic on both accounts: Like it or not, our earth was once teeming with real, honest to goodness monsters!! One monstrosity has simply replaced the other. Good job all you guys and gals at Blue Tongue. But, If I were you, I wouldn't buy this game here. Buy it at your local Wal-mart, if you have one. I bought my copy there for $$, to play with my niece and nephew, who adore all things big and growly that go bump in the day and in the night. It's a bit complicated and extenuated for little kids, but, they like to watch the dinos doing what dinos do once the park is set up.

The Jurassic Park Of Your Dreams!Apr 29, 2003
The game is a very interesting title among all the sims that are being made (Oil Tycoon?!). The idea of this game is to create what John Hammond (Watch the movie to find out who he is) couldn't. The game has it's little annoynces (Stupid constant emails, customers get pushy real fast), but then it also has it's ups (large varity of dinosaurs, nice camera to get up close and personal to the dinos). The game also gives nice, yet somewhat boring missions and also some exercies to train you before you go out and build the real deal. My advice? You'll do fine if you just know the money cheat (heh heh). Aside from that the game also gives you the chance to jump in a helicoptor (For sedating furious dino's, and also to retire them (It upsets customers though), and also a jeep (Yup, just like in the films). The fun part about the jeep is that you can let them into a dino cage (Carnivore cages not advised, I tried it before and it didn't work out), and a hot air balloon. Depending on some of the attractions you build, you can take views from a tourist perspective (Watch towers, visitor views (It was so disapointing, if your hoping to walk and see what a toruist's sees, don't)). But overall, though dissapointing in some it stay's true to the film (Character wise and in some ways dinosaur wise) series. If your a Jurassic Park fan, this is a definite buy (Since they don't have mnay cool JP related games). If your interested in sims with a twist (Ok, so it's like Zoo Tycoon with that dino expansion pack, but still) at least check it out. It's worth a shot.

Jurassic Park right in your own home!Oct 11, 2004

I originally purchased this game for my 7 year old son and after watching him play it for endless hours, I started to sneak my own playtime after he went to bed.
I soon realized that this game is more addictive than any Sim game I've ever played.
The graphics are simply amazing! There is nothing like having the controller shake in your hand as you zoom into to see your T-Rex or Spinosaurus chomp on their prey.
There are plenty of dinosaurs to choose from and several items to build to help please your guests. Don't be afraid to experiment and watch your herbivores move in packs!
Even when you have built everything you can and have researched everything possible, the sheer beauty of the game draws you to just stand back and watch your creation.
This is a must buy for any Xbox and dinosaur fan of any age.
