5Medievil is the greatest game EVER!Dec 24, 1999

This game is incredible. It is so much fun to play and has wonderful graphics and a great story line. Of all the RPG's I have purchased, I have yet to find one which I like and enjoy as much as Medievil. I reccomend this game to anyone who enjoys RPG's. I enjoyed this game so much that I was actually sad when I finally beat the game. The mixture of fighting and puzzle solving is one aspect that makes this game so much fun. There are many hidden clues and "secret" areas to uncover, so that when you replay the game you always find something that you had not found the first time you played it. I hope there is going to be a sequel because it certainly deserves one. This is the greatest game I have ever played and I wish I could find another like it.

5One of the best everDec 08, 1999

My girlfriend bought MediEvil for me for Christmas 1998, almost a year ago, and I'm still thanking her for it! This game is great, and the only drawback to it is that you will, eventually, finish it. There MUST be a sequel, or I may give up playing video games!

The graphics are very nice, not necessarily the best ever but way above average. They are fluid and well done, though the camera angle can sometimes be looking at Dan from the side instead of from behind him. Mastering the L2 and R2 buttons will alleviate this problem.

The landscape variety is astounding, the different boards are unusual and interesting, yet linked together in a great way. If you look closely at the "sky line" in the background of some boards, you can see buildings that you later enter on other boards - a nice touch. The variations in settings and environment is one of the best parts of the game. When you are done, you look back at the expanse of the game and wonder how they fit it all in on one CD. The soundtrack is spooky and sound effects well done - at times when you are on exposed parts of the world the wind noise is louder. The game does a great job of blending playability with difficulty. The puzzles needed to advance can be easy to quite hard, and often take a lot of thought and a little luck.

The best parts about this game, in my opinion, are the humor and the storyline. The game is clever and funny in so many parts, which only adds to the typical "slash and chop" zombie killing fun. The storyline is wonderful and deep, you find out more and more about Dan and the supporting cast as you travel through the realm. A great game from start to finish!

5This game has everything.Jan 04, 2002

Medievil is probably my favorite game on Playstation I've ever played. Everything about it is good. The plot is very imaginitive and the story is one that you can really get into. I'm one of those people who want a game to make them feel like theyv'e been taken to a completely different place, and this game definitely does this. Sir Dan is a trully pathetic hero risen from the dead to face up to his old enemy the necromancer Zarok. The dialogue is really funny, which just adds a more personal touch to the main characters.

The landscape is beautifully detailed, rich and vibrant. Medievil manages to stay fun and still be creepy at the same time. The graphics are really reminiscent of A Night before Christmas. If this game was ever made into a movie, you can be sure Tim Burton would direct it.

Not too hard, not too easy, Medievil is the perfect game for not just experienced gamer nerds - but for everyone.

5Even better the second timeNov 28, 1999

There are very few games I would purchase twice and this is one of them. I bought Medievil back when it first came out and played the game to death. Its combination of good storyline, delightful humor, and good gameplay kept me coming back for more. Its Tim Burton-like style (cartoony yet creepy) really appealed to me. Add good voice acting, great music, and cool graphics and you've got a winner. Now, I say second time in the title of this review because about two months ago my copy turned up missing. Lost? Stolen? Well, it didn't matter cuz I liked it so much I went out and bought another one!

5this game is fun and challenging tooNov 21, 1999

I have beat this game and it was not easy, but it was fun... The puzzles are a bit difficult and younger players will need help. I recommend keeping notes to refer back to during the game. A true hero's welcome awaits you at the end of the game. March on warrior.....
