3Glitches Get Worse With TimeDec 16, 2007

I ran into similar problems as the first reviewer. The game starts the freeze up and stop altogether after a few hours of gameplay. I too, own one of the thicker PS2 models, but I encountered these glitches with minimal strain on the playstation (i.e. 1 controller, period). Please note that this is not a complaint about the actual gameplay; In fact, I think it is an excellent culmination of the Guitar Hero/Singing type games. But there are several problem with this version of the game itself, and I strongly urge that you try it out on your own Playstation before buying the game.

The other problem is that the glitches seems to worsen with time. The game ran completely error-free for the first few days, and with the exception of a few loading delays, everything was peachy. But after the first glitch, things only got worse. Instead of stopping entirely, the audio and the video began to unallign, and then the music itself started skipping/choking. Now, I can't play a song once through without running into related problems.

5Bought the ps2 (game only) and I Love IT!!!Dec 28, 2007
By B. Frawley
This game is awesome. I can't stop playing. All I had was two Guitar hero guitars and a usb mic from a karaoke game and it works like a champ. Alot of the songs have replay value. I've heard that the ps3 drums work with the ps2 version so I can't wait to pick up that to complete the band and we're rolling!!!

3PS3 + XBOX360 yes, but PS2 no.......Dec 13, 2007
By B. Thurman
First, I'll give you some background info to the problems.

I already owned Guitar Hero 2+3 and Singstar Amped so I decided to purchase Rock Band minus the drums and stupid guitar(the strum bar feels like wiggling a stiff tongue from a shoe!!!).

Anyways, everything works great on it until extended play.....after playing somewhere between 15-20 songs on band mode, it starts to glitch REALLY BAD! Songs will skip/dead stop!! I have the third or fourth generation of PS2's, so it's still one of the old thick ones, but not the glitchy first couple releases. Either way, the only way I've found to make it stop is to power down the PS2 by the switch, unplug the power cord, wait for about 1 minute, then reboot.

I think the PS2's memory and processor just struggles too hard to accommodate all the peripherals. Now this could be cause by running both the controller plugs, USB hub, and a Multitap, but I think they should've worked those glitches out, or not released it for PS2.......

IF YOU WANT THE PS2 ONE, TRY IT FIRST FOR A WHILE TO SEE FOR YOURSELF!!!!! Just consider all the options and save yourself some trouble.

5Playstation 2 Rock Band Is Playstation 3 Instrument CompatibleJan 25, 2008
By Carla Penman "croatian nation"
This ground-breaking game/musical experience is even better since I was able to purchase the Playstation 3 Instruments and they worked with RockBand for the Playstation 2 game. This was a life-saver at Christmas time since the Playstation 2 Instruments weren't released until 3 days before Christmas and were in short supply. My kids aged 9 to 18 are all very happy with RockBand for Playstation 2 and say it plays just like the Playstation 3 Version

5best rock game yetNov 30, 2008

The songs are awsome.I think that rock band should be voted over guitar hero because on rock band you can sing, play guitar, play bass, and play the drums.I don't know if you want a challenge but if you do pick rock band over guitar hero. There is a pretty big difference in difficulti between those two.A other reason why rock band should be voted over rock band is because you can only play bass and guitar on guitar hero and not sing, play bass, play guitar, and play drums like on rock band.
