5Everything you've heard is trueSep 18, 2003

It is definately not the lack of good previous Simpsons games that make Hit and Run so excellent. This game more than makes up for it's predecessors. It is one of the most enthralling adventure games I've ever played. Whether you are an occasional watcher of the show, a never seen it before viewer, or one of "those" who own every guidebook, DVD, the piano songbook, and the life-size homer cut out I saw at the mall today, you will love this game. It has racing, problem solving, obstacle courses, and mass destruction on its list of tasks, and I haven't even seen it past the first level yet! Avid fans will enjoy Hit and Run the most because of the many refernces to the show. You get to see the world's largest toilet, race through the nuclear power plant, collect tomacco plants, and (best of all) you get to kick Ned Flanders and other annoying characters many times. The main missions are easy enough to get through, but the side missions, extra races, gag tasks, and shear expanse of the Simpsons world will keep you occupied for many a sleepless night. The only downside so far with this game comes when you want to complete every single task per level. Then you find yourself in a quite frustrating search that takes you EVERYWHERE in Springfield that could make your temper throw the controller across the room. Be patient and enjoy the environment! Buy this game! Who could really resist seeing Homer run around town in his underwear?! And remember...No jumping in the Springfield Tire Fire!

5At last, a good simpsons gameOct 07, 2003
By Jeremy "63271864410"
This is the first Simpsons game that is any good. It's very amusing with a lot of Simpsons related humor involved. The graphics are excellent 3D renditions of the 2D versions.

Springfield town looks fabulous and driving through, knocking over people is excellent (but harmless) fun. Characters fall in ragdoll style and shout insults. Too much mayhem results in a police chase.

The game is based around a series of GTA style missions. These are varied, reasonably challenging but not too difficult and fun. There are plenty of hidden elements and the replay value is very high.

When figuring out the controls I was stood in front of an old ladie (I think it was Principal Skinner's mother). I pressed the red button only to hear Homer shout 'take that' and kick her hard enough for her to collapse on the floor. It was so funny. I proceeded to go and find flanders and kick him up and down the street.

Contains all of your favorite characters. I love this game.

5D'OH! Mmmmm ... Simpsons on video game!Jun 18, 2004

THE SIMPSONS HIT AND RUN is a quantum leap from the ROAD RAGE game previously released. In ROAD RAGE you played a driving game that imitated CRAZY TAXI, and this one is more like GTA - missions on foot and driving. In HIT AND RUN you hoof it for some portions of the game, and you drive a variety of cars (just pick one off the road by standing in front of it and pressing the "y" button). You have to complete missions and tasks for the residents of Springfield while also looking out for some evil aliens that are spying on you from cola machines and robotic insects.

The SIMPSONS actors voiced all the characters and the writers had a hand in the plot of the game. Springfield is lovingly reproduced in massive detail and depth. You want to stop driving every now and then to look around at all the billboards and other items that have SIMPSONS lore : ads for Duff Beer, Krusty Burger restaurants and delivery vans, ads for The NEW area code, and tomacco plants fill the horizon.

This ones not too hard - although many of the bonus missions are tricky! But it's so BIG and there's so much to explore! WoW! And unlike ROAD RAGE the characters talk a lot more than just their catch phrases - and there are more mini-movies in the game and they look better. Great game!

5Drive around Springfield like Mr Burns on Ether!!Oct 11, 2004
By M. Tigner "nomad"
This game is extremely addictive. You can drive around Springfield, GTA style without any regard for cartoon life or property and enjoy every minute of it. Just don't get caught by Chief Wiggum and his boys or you'll have to pay a hefty fine. Some of the mini missions have great rewards to unlock. Heres a tip: When you get to level 7 try to complete all three DMV races first. The car you get will be well worth it believe me. Simpsons fans of all ages will love this game.

4Best Simpsons Game Ever! Fun, Funny, and Original!Jan 17, 2005
By NOWdude35
"Simpsons Hit & Run" is a downright awesome game. "Simpsons Road Rage" was pretty good, but you didn't get to actually get out of the car and explore Springfield. In TSHR, you get to do all that and more. The actors of the TV show return to record hundreds of funny but endlessly repeating quotes. There are seven episodes (neighborhood, downtown, seaside, night neighborhood, night downtown, sunset seaside, and holloween neighborhood) in the game and five playable characters (Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge, & Apu). There are actually three basic levels that are reused in later episodes sometimes making things feel a bit repetitive but there are different missions in each episode. The missions basically differ but can sometimes reuse gameplay types. This can get repetitive at points, but this game is so much fun it doesn't really matter. The missions are never too insanely hard, but by the later levels don't stay extremely easy. The game plays like "Grand Theft Auto III", "Vice City", and "San Andreas" without the violence. You can still destroy stuff (and get busted by the reckless cops) but there is no blood or guns whatsoever. That doesn't prevent you from kicking random bystanders, even though there is no sane or required reason to do this. The missions are awesome and the ability to explore Springfield is just fantastic, but when it comes time to find the wasp cameras, gags, and collector cards, things can get tedious. You need to find an FAQ on the internet to prevent hours of stumbling around, looking for the annoying wasp cameras and funny yet cleverly hidden gags. The cards are easier to find and are spottable from the street level, but gags and wasp cameras require scrutinizing every inch of the world thrown at you in this videogame. It seems like the cons are endless, but the fun to be had in this game is undescribable. I have replayed this game over and over again from mission 1 in episode 1 to mission 7 in world 7. Even though my defective copy of the game corrupts my memory card every five worlds, I resave and continue my endless fun. I love The Simpsons and this game is chocolate for Simpsons fans and Adventure fans alike. Though stuff can get repetitive, who cares? This game is downright awesome. Buy it, because now it's nice and cheap. I have the game on Gamecube and the graphics are wonderful (it's a cartoon!) and so are the controls. I have heard that the PC/Mac version has installation problems with Direct X, so buy it on the consoles. Buy it now or you'll miss out on the best Simpsons game ever.
