Ok, if you thought Sly 2: Band of Theives was good, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
You have, amoung other things, a VERY lengthy game with tons of enemies and missions to do. There are 3D levels where you put on 3D glasses and everything jumps out at you. Its amazing and family friendly. Be the first person on your block to play this game!
Please note that you DO NOT need to have played ANY of the other Sly games in order to enjoy this game. Although it is essential to understand some of the storyline, it is not needed to actually enjoy this all new, action-packed game.
Unlike what most people was saying, this game has easily surpassed both previous installments. What are you waiting for? GET IT NOW!!!!! (Note that the violence is almost NULL and VOID in this game, the rating of 10+ is only due to the cartoon violence that is the same as if you were reading a comic book of Spiderman or Superman, it is quite discreet and younger children CAN play this game without the risk of violence being the dominating theme. It is all in fun and absolutely NO gore, sexual themes, and other themes games have taken the route of recently)
Overall: On the buy scale: an easy 5 out of 5

Let me just say that I really enjoyed this game .It's one of the funnest game that I've ever played. Let me start out with the storyline . The game begins where the previous game left off. bentley is now in a wheel chair , since he was injured at the end of the last game ,and murray has left the team to go on a path of peacfulness and non-violence, because he blames himself for what happend to Bentley , since he was close to Bentley when he got injured , so he thinks he could have saved him .Meanwhile , Sly meets a guy from his father's old gang , that tells him about a secret island somewhere in the pacific ocean , that holds the cooper vault . This vault is the place in which Sly's ancestors put all of their loot and treasures in . Naturally , Sly goes to find the vault. However , when he arrives , he sees that someone called Dr.M is already there. Apparentlry this guy has been trying to crack open the cooper vault for years , to no avail .He became so paranoid ,that he even built a huge, heavily guarded fortress around the vault to protect it , while he tries to break in . Sly and bentley realize that they're going to need to recruit new members to the gang if they want to get in the vault , and this is where the game starts .
in the rest of the game , you visit 6 different levels , the are longer , funner , and more complex than those in the second game. In each of these levels ,you will need to recruit a new member to your gang .However , it's not that simple . Each of the thieves that you recruit will ask you to do them a favor before they join your team , so you'll have to complete many missions in each world before that thief will join your team.
The missions are also longer and more fun than those in the second game , and usually you'll use two or more members to complete each step of the mission. You will also get the option to replay each mission you complete once you beat it ,something that the secong game didn't have , and this gives the game a big replay value.
speaking of new characters , you will get five other playable characters in the game . The good thing is , that although you get to play the other characters , the main focus is still on sly , bentley and murray , and they're the only characters that can use the gadgets that you buy from thiefnet. (speaking of which , each character will get new attacks and gadgets ,and keep some of their old ones as well )Still, he mini games with each of the other characters are very fun to play ,and they never get too repetitve (like in the second game).The new characters are:
A.the gure - He is a magical koala that can jump on a guard's head , and control his mind , making him run around and smash into things. He can also camouflage himself , to hide from the guards.
B.Penelope -She's has an RC chopper and an RC car , which you will control in some of the missions . they're both very fun .
C.panda king - He's basically the new demolitions expert in the gang . Gamers might remember him from the first game . He can also shoot fireworks at enemies .
D.Dimitri-He does all of the underwater missions for the gang . He also appeared in the secong game .
E.Camelita-(she's not really in the gang , just sometimes sly and the gang bait her into attacking one of their enemies ,then you get control of her.)she can jump really high , and she also has a shock pistol , which is pretty useful.
Another good thing is the graphics. These are great , cartoonish , cel-shaded graphics, and they look really great .Speaking of graphics , the game also has some missions that can be played using 3-D glasses that come in the manual . These are really geat , and they make the game seem very realistic , and the images seem to pop out at you. Even though the entire game is not playable in 3-D , most of the missions you complete are playable in 3-D after you finish them . The 3-D glasses are an awesome feature.
Also , this game has a multiplayer mode. there are 4 modes , and they're all very fun . they are pirate battle (where you fight at sea with battleships ) , biplane dogfighting , co-op hacking , and cops and robbers(one player , Sly , has to steal 5 items and drop them off at certain points ,and the other player, carmelita , has to kill Sly 5 times)
I highly recommend this game to anyone , and I really think it's an awesome game that does a good combination of action , adventure , and stealth .

Boy, I sometimes don't have the guts to say but better than Sly 2Oct 10, 2005
Okay, Sly 2 Band of Thieves was a world-classic last year... It
was one percent close to being flawless, the thing was Bentley
the demolition expert was weak when it came to fights with gua-
rds and was more stealthy than Sly.
Okay, now the story (since suckers these days don't give up a
small piece of the game) is during their last heist before quit-
ting to a less suspenseful life. Is that one night on the Kaine
Islands. Sly and his gang were sneaking into a psycho-maniac by
the name of Dr. M's fortress to get back The Cooper Vault he s-
tole a few years back, realizing that after a fatal blow on B-
entley's head in Band of Theives (2004) Murray, klutz and musc-
le of the band blamed himself and went to The Outback to seek
peace with a Guru. And on the run from the sweet and now rude
Carmelita Montoya Fox they head for these following places to
get back the Cooper Vault
Venice, Boss: Don Octavio, Opera Psycho
The Outback, Boss: Carmelita/Mask of Dark Earth, evil mask
Holland, (favorite) Boss: The Black Baron, evil pro pilot
China, Boss: General Tsao/Dragon, a man seeking romance
Blood Bath Bay/Carribean Boss: (maybe LeFwee) greedy pirate
Sorry, that's not all, but I'm still stuck so to end let me show your gang.
Sly: Man of The Field
Bentley: Injured in wheelchair expert at bombs
Murray: Fat, Strong, Man of Muscle
The Guru: A Weak Mentor with a special power
Penelope: A Gearhead mechanic from Holland
Panda King: (I know, bad guy in #1) but he's become's a friend.
and maybe Dimitri, Another foe from # 2 but he's worthy now.
Now I want you to get the game and even if you want throw it
out the window, stick with it! good luck! it's pretty hard!

I'm in love with this game. The story, animation, gameplay is all supurb. Well worth the $40. Great for everyone in the family, including dad.
If you like action platforming goodness, great story, beautiful animation, and just an overall fun experience, then go buy this game!!

Sly 3 was just as good as the other two, with better parts in some places.
Pros:
All 3 pickpocket
play as many more
return of Panda King, Muggshot, and Dimitri
Murray has bouncy ball move
combo cane attacks for Sly
Bentley has a grapple-cam, SLIGHT improvement on the hacking levels, and his hover pack is easier to control
Exercise sly's skills thouroughly
disguises
while the betrayal(codeword Neyla)isn't here, there is a love triangle in the middle, when Penelope seems to be crushin' on Sly
Cons:
Carmelita DID get a sexier voice in the second game, but here it's a stupid Italian deep accent.
I don't mind the no clue bottles, but there wasn't loot to bring back to the safehouse(Not even un-boobytrapped)
Would take a master of sly cooper about 7 hrs without breaks, not including multiplayer and side missions
You can only play as Dimitri(underwater)twice
Can't play as unSly/B./Mur. whenever
Bentley and Penelope don't kiss
Murray's Roundhouse kick(sneak up behind a guard, press the triangle button, and then the square button to do a sweet double punch spin attack)won't kill flashlight guards anymore
Other than that, this game rocks.Here are some tips for bosses:
Don Octavio:He's too fast, even for Murray. Sly will activate tar. Walk into the uplifting tar to have it spill out(you won't get stuck, but Octavio will)He can still attack you(particually with the "song of death" in the second part, so don't perform more than 2 punches at once. Oh, and NEVER thunderflop him.
Black Baron:To avoid his main simple punch, don't get to close to him. When he says "Oh,Oh,OHhh" he will dive at you. Jump away or use the dodge move(if you've purchased it)When he goes "Hrresh" he will pull off a big punch,avoid it, than STRIKE! After a thug attack, he will use a jump move. If he's in midair, perform a double jump before he lands(I've never had to, but you might want to open a paraglider just to be safe)
Tsao's dragon:I don't know how to explain Tsao, air OR ground, so I'll skip to the dragon. Latch onto fireworks(ping the waypoints wit L3) and make sure to spire jump the dragon's tail, jumping and spiring over the fire. When you get to its head,hit him, but jump backwards to avoid his tongue
Lefwee:The only time you really play as Penelope, X jumps his low attacks(he'll push his sword toward himself, than go for it)circle to duckhis high attacks(he'll start with a spin)square to attack when his pelvis is showing, andtriangle to attack when his head his showing
I don't want to spoil the fun of Dr.M strategy, so you'll have to figure that out for yourself. Oh, and remember, DON'T punch guards in the first level you play as Murray.
