4Awkward controls mar gameplayJul 12, 2006
By Humble Consumer
I'm writing this review with the hope that the makers of the game will fix the future releases of this franchise. As a big fan of the Syphon Filter series, I've always found the controls on the Tomb Raider series to be very awkward compared to Syphon Filter. The "camera" does not automatically follow Lara making it difficult to line up precise jumps. It's also very difficult to get Lara to face the direction you want. In the Syphon Filter series, the camera is always where it needs to be and the movement of the character is precise. Why the game makers have never bothered to fix this flaw is beyond me. Nevertheless, once you get over the awkward movements, the gameplay itself is fun.

4Very good game - I enjoyed itSep 03, 2006
By PSP Player
This is a very good action/adventure game for the PSP. It is one of the few actions games that is not a shooter, although there is quite a bit of gun play at times.

It took me quite awhile to play the entire game, which is good. There is quite a bit there. Excellent graphics, very good story. The biggest knock would be the controls. It is very easy to send Lara over a cliff because your joystick was not positioned just so when you made her jump. Other than that, I really enjoyed the game a lot. A must-have for PSP if you like action/adventure games.

4Find out for yourself what you think...Jul 05, 2006
By J. McDonald
I will be the first to admit that I rely heavily on Video Game websites to find out what games are good and what games aren't that good. This game received negative press on most of those websites and so I was hesitant to play it. A friend let me play it and I found it very enjoyable. Most of the reviews I have read complain that the controls are awkward compared to the consoles but of course they are going to be different, you are playing a PSP not a PS2 or Xbox with two analog sticks.

I didn't find the controls difficult and I think this game is really fun. I like figuring out the different puzzles and the graphics are amazing. Another good thing is there is a lot of replay value because you can search for hidden medallions and hold time trials.

All in all, I was glad I found out for myself that this game is REALLY good.

5Great Game!Mar 29, 2009
By Jack
I played the PSP version of Tomb Raider: Legend before I played it on any other console and I enjoyed it a lot! The UMD Disc seems like it is completely filled up with this game! It has everything the console versions have and more! It includes extra outfits and extra multiplayer challenges. Treasure Hunt is finding treasures scattered around levels seen in the game and new environments. Beat The Clock is getting to the finish line with many obstacles in the way and it has many different obstacles to choose from. The controls aren't the best for PSP, but you get used to them after a while. The game has a great story which is concluded in Tomb Raider: Underworld. There are also many unlockables including character bios, concept art, music, outfits, cinematics and more! I recommend it to anyone that wants a new PSP game and loves adventure games although I prefer it on Xbox 360, but it doesn't have the PSP exclusives.

2This is not a PSP game.May 24, 2011
By Daniel A. Kaufman "Dan-O"
This was one of my favorite games for the original Xbox, so I didn't hesitate when I saw the PSP version. Unfortunately, the camera controls for the PSP version are horrific -- especially when facing a time sensitive bounce-from-pillar-to-pillar situation (while trying to control this ridiculous camera system) making what should be a edge-of-your-seat experience into one that will have you questioning whether this classic came from a fiery pit. In full, AVOID THIS FOR PSP... or better yet, just skip to the sequel: Tomb Raider Anniversary.
