5Review from a college kid in FloridaNov 19, 1999

Perhaps one of the best games I ever played. My roomates and I rented it for five days and were completely engulfed the entire time. There was always someone playing the game. Combining amazing lifelike graphics with a killer soundtrack this game will capture you to. That and the ability to do tricks like 900's, kickflip Mctwisits, double or even triple 360 kickflips, and even a 1080 ollie (I fell of a cliff and just spun; and actually landed it). After renting it, I went right out and bought it. You'll love it. Buy it.

5A versitile family gameDec 26, 1999

We got the kids PSX for Christmas, and my 11-yr.-old son insisted on Tony Hawk which he's played at friends' homes. After a few hours of watching, I asked him to show me, his 37-yr.-old mom, how to play...I was hooked! Although at first I wiped out more times than I was upright, I did get the hang of it rather quickly. It's a lot of fun to try all kinds of crazy tricks and not risk a broken neck. The two-player options allow you to compete head-to-head on a split screen, take turns trying to "out trick" each other in "Horse," or just take turns. Compared to most video games, I don't consider this one to be violent. Just a few minor blood splattering and grunting when skaters crash. My nine-yr.-old daugher picked the game up quickly as well and I can already see that we are all going to be jostling for our turns on this fast-paced, always different game.

5Tony Hawk Now Making Impact On Gaming WorldDec 03, 1999

When I first played the demo for the game, I couldn't figure it out. The controls seemed to make no sense at all. But, despite not knowing the controls, the game was still a blast. I waited out the 2 months till its release and then played it the day it hit stores. First thig, I read the controls. Simple, I thought! I took the CD, put it in my Playstation and fired her up. What waited for me was a revolution in way skateborading games are made. Since the only skating game to hit PS-X was EA's yawn-inducing StreetSk8r, this game was truely a treat to die-hard skateboarding fans like myself. The controls, though first seeming simple, proved to be challenging and entertaining. Try to fit as many tricks as you can in your air time is a challege we're all willing to take. The massive level design and numerous level challeges make this game one of the few that make you lose track of time. You keep wanting to play more, and seeming as the more goals you acheive, the more levels and decks you unlock, the game does not lose it shine fast. This is one that even after you beat, you'll still love to play. It could most possibly be the best skateboarding game ever made!

5PLAY THIS GAME!Jan 25, 2000

This is one of the best games out there. The graphics, the game play, and the over all sound and feel of the game are real. There are a million different tricks you can pull for points. You can create your own combos for even more points. Two player with split screen makes the game even more enjoyable for that late night after hours party entertainment. There are different game types to play in. H-O-R-S-E is one of the best. You pull a trick and the other person has to beat the points you made. You can pull tricks on 50' rails, to half pipes. Skate pools, to just strait insane jumps in a variety of different skate parks. You can even change the name from HORSE to something like BI**H. So, when you win, the screen will tell your opponent, "Player Two, You are a BI**H!". I could be more creative, but I'm sure they wouldn't post it. Anyway, things like this all throughout the game make it a 5 star game by far. I would give it 10 out of 5. Ahhhhh....So.....much.....fun.......

5Awesome Game!Jan 19, 2000

I have never been a fan of sports games, and I have always hated snowboarding games (such as Cool Borders and 1080). When my friend introduced me to this game I was sure I would find it extremely dull and boring. However, after five minutes of playing I was hooked. This is one of the most fun and challenging games I have ever played. It has great control, music, graphics, and fun 2-player modes. No matter how long you play for there are always new tricks to learn and new skills to master.

This game is definately one of the greatest playstation games out there. The only problem is that since I have started playing it I have not had time to do my homework!

If you are viewing this page and do not own a copy of Tony Hawk I strongly suggest buying it right now. You won't be dissapointed!
